Testimonials

Comment: We stayed at The Lavenders in August (two adults, two children) and had the most fantastic week. Once booked, we received Sues contact details (the owner) and I messaged her with a few questions. She replied promptly with all the information I was after and more. The cottage is superb and really big. On arrival we found it to be clean and very well equipped. There was a useful information pack along with some kitchen essentials such as tea, coffee, milk, eggs, bread etc. A lovely and appreciated touch. The weather wasn’t great whilst we were there so we spent a lot of time in the cottage and it was lovely. This was largely due to the coziness and ample space the cottage provided. We were able to do baking in the very spacious kitchen and even set up an arts and crafts section in the conservatory which could stay that way for the week without getting in the way. The garden is excellent with a stunning view. I miss waking up and having our breakfast overlooking the rolling hills. The kids loved talking to the horse that lived out the back and, when the weather allowed, enjoyed running around and playing. It was very safe. It’s located in a very quiet village which had a nice pub/restaurant just a few minutes walk away with a little shop attached. There was also a horse riding school just down the road where the kids went on a ride around the village. Mablethorpe was about a 45 minute drive away and was great! The sand was lovely and it’s a really wide beach so even with a fair few people there we were still very much able to social distance. Donkey rides on the beach were popular and lots of amusements/rides (due to COVID we didn’t use these). If you’re looking for a peaceful break, with beautiful views and very comfortable accommodation, this is definitely the place. We highly recommend The Lavenders and really hope to return again. Thank you Sue for being so helpful and kind.

Comment: This is a superb bungalow. Very spacious with everything you could possibly need and more. So much storage space. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable - one of the best properties we've ever stayed in and we've stayed in an awful lot over the years. Its position in the Wolds means you are not far from anywhere and there are so many lovely places to visit - lots of little villages and we went as far as Cleethorpes and Grimsby to buy some fish from the Fish Docks on the way home. We only live 45 miles away from Scamblesby and it was a perfect end to the 5 weeks we had had in Yorkshire and Fife before travelling home. Sue and Lee the property is a credit to you - thank you for the most welcome provisions and a HUGE THANK YOU for making us feel safe and welcome in lovely Lavenders. It was great to be able to see the horses every day against the backdrop of the lovely Lincolnshire Wolds
